TABULATING MATHS WITH FUN

“Mathematics is the door and key to the sciences of the world.”

Mathematics gives us the hope that every problem has a solution. To strengthen the foundation of Mathematics subject and to create interest and love among the students, Modern Era Convent recently celebrated Mathematics Week for classes Pre School to XI. A wide range of activities were organised that were a perfect blend of fun and learning. Students of classes Pre-school and Pre-primary created beautiful designs using geometrical shapes. Students of class I were familiarized with denominations of currency coins and used their combination to create different amount of money. Students of class V performed activities on mensuration and learned to find perimeter and area of different shapes. As part of Mathematics Week, an Inter House Maths Quiz was conducted in which the students of all the four houses participated with vigour but students of Utkarsh House excelled and emerged as the Winners. Students of senior classes were engrossed in solving mathematical puzzles that challenged their reasoning and problem solving skills. Week long activities came to an end with power point presentation by students of class IX in which students explained different mathematical concepts in an interesting and interactive manner through the use of multimedia. All the activities were thoroughly enjoyed by the students and efforts of students were lauded and appreciated by one and all.
