Modern Era Convent, Janak Puri, New Delhi recently celebrated its Annual Day function. The event was held at ‘The Air Force Auditorium’, Subroto Park, New Delhi.

Lt. General (Retd.) Jagdish Chander (P.V.S.M., A.V.S.M.) was the chief guest for the day and Sh. Y.P. Purang, an eminent educationist of Delhi was the presiding guest.

The gala event began with the lighting of the auspicious lamp followed by a beautiful dance presentation devoted to Goddess Saraswati.

In all, more than 450 students presented before the audience a cultural extravaganza of dance, drama and songs. The ballad ‘Betiyaan’ was amongst the most applauded presentation in which over 150 students enthralled the audience with their mesmerizing performance highlighting the essence of a girl child.

Another highlight of the day was the play ‘Surju- Ek Samundri Parinda’. Using flight as a philosophical metaphor, the students spread the message that one needs to follow ones dreams and soar high in life.

The cultural programme was followed by the prize distribution ceremony where more than 100 students were felicitated with scholarships and trophies for their academic accolades and laurels in the literary, cultural and sports arena. The efforts put in by the Modern Era Convent Fraternity were lauded by one and all.
