Modern Era Convent, Janak Puri, New Delhi commemorated ‘Earth Day’ by organizing a plethora of activities. The task of creating awareness and concern towards Mother Earth was taken up by the Science faculty of the School. Purnima Ahuja, a student of class XII-Science gave an inspirational speech, highlighting the need to protect environment and avoid pollution. A well staged skit was also presented by the senior students of the school which conveyed the message ‘SAVE WATER’. The students of the primary wing, too matched the efforts of their seniors through their craft, painting, clay modelling and other activities, thereby expressing their love for Mother Earth. A pledge was also administered wherein the students promised to take steps in their daily routine towards the care of the planet and make a big difference to the future of the Earth. Mr. Vikramaditya, the academic advisor of the school addressed the audience and laid emphasis on consistent endeavours on individual’s part to save the Mother Earth. The school has been nurturing the spirit of responsibility among its students as we firmly believe that we have inherited it from our ancestors and we definitely owe it to our future generations.
